Welcome to Dudi's 747 Cockpit Project.

If you have a love for aviation and in turn for flight simulation this might just be a web site of interest, I think you will agree that the flight Sim world is moving forward at an incredible pace, I will try to describe how I built my simulator and what it is capable of doing.
On this site I will keep you informed about my simulator project, while building this simulator, some of the idea I design are available for you too.

I am building my cockpit for Boeing 747-400 type, for flight simulators (FS2004).

I started this project in November 2003. First I made the yoke systems, next I made the gear level and the Rudder,  two months took me to build The Throttle, Flaps level and the Air Brake unit and finally I finish it in 8-June-2004, after that I start to plan and build the Pedestal and all the including panel's, all the panels are with wooden base and/or with acrylic (PVC) materials step by step, now I working on the center panel.

08-FEB-2006,  End of works and the beginning of fun..!!  the Cockpit is redy for flihgt !!

You can download this video clip file and see a great flight from YAP INTL(PTYA, PT) to NINOY AQUINO INTL(RPLL, RP) in the participation of the TFC team.

02-JAN-2006,  I  I bought a new 8.4" DVD for the EICAS-2 and for GPS possibility, the screen are connected to PC2 and PC3 with a screen swith, the ICAS-2 sight from PC2- from FreeFD and to PC3 sight from the WideView.

22-DEC-2006, After a big conflict with myself if to installed an additional graphic card to my PC1 I decided to use the Wideview software in PC3 for my front/left view.

10-Nov-2005, Unfortunately the new 747-400 PMDG are not suitable and it realy bad for cockpit builder's, so I decide with deep regret to give up and stay at meantime with the default 744, So..I be forced to build the overhead panels configuration with a logical disposition,                                                                                               New photos and explanation for the overhead panels are updated in the gallery,

28-Apr-2005,  I had an indecision refer to my EFIS / EICAS system if to buy it from the Aerosoft Australia products or to build it alone by my self,  eventually I do it alone since I wasn't sure how the Aerosoft EFIS / EICAS  will synchronized with the FreeFD software, I build another LPTS to be able connect the EFIS / EICAS  switch's to the LPT connector in PC2.

17-March-2004, The first stage is over, including all the Center and the Glareshield panels, all the knob and the switch's are connected to the No. 2 Plasma V2 card, the most the Pedestal panels are installed and connected to No.1 Plasma V2 card except the FMC, I decided to leave it to the end, I have no idea yet if I want to make it or to buy it.

Please have a look at my project Gallery and the flight deck.

Finally, I would just like to say thanks to all those who helped me to carry out this project, especially.

As we all know the Australian Aerosoft 747 MCP much to our regret is out of sale, it happened exactly at the moment that I was truly needs it, finally in 16-NOV-2004 I got one in his courteous help of Mr' Israel Roth...Thanks Israel.

To Shai Meir for the ideas and support, also he’s the software engineer for this project.
To Ran Finkels and Israel Roth for this web site management and computerized support.
To Sharon from "Ilanit" company for the excellent service for my LEGO products.
To Leo Lacava for the Plasma card support.

Regards,

David Misha

Software: The Wideview
Software

I use the Wideview for my third monitor for the front/left view.

WidevieW can be used to create virtual cockpits with multiple monitor support, using networked PCs. Requires FS2004 or FS2002. There is no limit on how many PCs can be linked together, and each of them can be configured to show a real scenery view from a window, a map or a Spot Plane & Tower.
